Located inside an ornate building reminiscent of a grand castle, Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery celebrates the history of two breweries, Best and Pabst, which originated here, dating back to 1844. Tours of Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery kick off with a pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon, Schlitz, or a root beer, paired with a viewing of vintage beer commercials.
The owner of Best Place, Jim Haertel, often serves as your Historic Guide and leads groups out to the courtyards to pose for pictures with statues of Captain Frederick Pabst and King Gambrinus before heading to the guest center where the tours used to begin and end. The tour winds through “Blue Ribbon Hall” where weddings and all kinds of parties and events are now hosted. The vintage Gift Shop with a treasure trove of Pabst and retro beer merchandise is a fun end to a magical and memorable experience. The combination of the venue’s history, beautiful architecture, local beers, and the staff’s passion make this tour live up to its name, “Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery!”
