On behalf of the staff and board of the Westown Association, BID #5, I want to thank our members for their ongoing support.  As we look towards a New Year, we are enthusiastically preparing for an exciting year of events and activities that will take place in our great neighborhood, west of the Milwaukee River.

The members of the Westown Association recognize that downtown Milwaukee is undergoing a phenomenal revitalization. In order for this renaissance to continue, leadership by area property owners, business owners and residents is essential. The Westown Association provides the vehicle for this leadership through the coordination of marketing efforts, special events, and community and economic development initiatives.

Our special events continue to gain momentum and are attracting tens of thousands of visitors to Downtown. The New Year will get off to a great start when the 41st Annual Milwaukee St. Patrick's Day Parade returns on March 7, 2007. Then, it's time to get ready for an action-packed summer! River Rhythms, downtown's fastest growing music festival, kicks off on June 6th and ends on September 5th.  The Westown Farmer's Market, a downtown favorite, will run for 20 weeks in Zeidler Union Square from June 6th through October 24th.  Outdoor movies will return when we present River Flicks on the Fridays in August.

We want to work with our members on all of these exciting projects. Please continue to be a part of the more than 130 stakeholders who are also passionate about the Westown renaissance.
