Movies Under the Stars

River Flicks is the first four Fridays during the month of August at Pere Marquette Park starting at dusk.  Its your chance to enjoy the great weather and view movies under the stars in Downtown Milwaukee!

2008 River Flicks Movie Line-Up

	August 1 - The Wizard of Oz [G] (1939) After a destructive tornado hits her farm, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are magically transported to the land of OZ.  Dorothy is instructed by the Good Witch of the North to follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City, to meet the Wizard of OZ who may know how to return her to Kansas.  During her journey, she meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, who aid her in her journey to the Emerald City hoping to receive what they each lack themselves (a brain, a heart, and courage).
	August 8 - Bee Movie [PG](2007) Barry B. Benson, a bee who has just graduated from college, is disillusioned at this lone career choice: making honey.  On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City.  As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue them.
	August 15 – Muppets Take Manhattan [G] (1984) In this classic, Henson's Muppets travle to Manhattan to find a producer for their musical, "Manhattan Melodies."  After splitting apart, the gang complete with Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and Rowlf, are reunited providing entertainment for the entire family with their hilarious adventures in the Big Apple.
	August 22 - The Goonies [PG] (1985) When brothers, Mikey and Brand, learn that greedy developers are forcing their family to move, they and their friends decide to have one last, precious adventure together in this action-packed classic.  WIth the help of a treasure map they find in the attic, the group, known as the Goonies, goes in search of buried gold hoping if they find it, Mikey and Brand will succeed in keeping their home.
