THE SHAMROCK CLUB OF WISCONSIN'S
46TH ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
Building on a successful partnership, the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin and the Westown Association, along with presenting sponsor Miller Lite, continue to collaborate on Wisconsin's oldest and largest St. Patrick's Day celebration. Although the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin is celebrating its 46th anniversary of producing the parade, the event actually dates back to 1843. Milwaukee's parade is the sixth oldest in the nation. It predates the incorporation of the State of Wisconsin and the City of Milwaukee. The Parade features 120+ units and includes local politicians and celebrities, floats, bagpipe and marching bands and Irish and Celtic organizations.
The 2012 parade week will feature:
-
A kickoff party at Miller Time Pub on Friday, March 9th
-
Celtic entertainment during the lunch hour at the Grand Avenue Mall from Wednesday through Saturday
-
St. Patrick's Day Parade press conference on Friday, March 9th
-
Over 120 exciting parade units
-
A post-parade party at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center
