The historic Central Library opened its doors in 1898 and is now a designated landmark by the Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each day, thousands of visitors go to Central Library to browse their vast collection, learn from the knowledgeable staff or get a tour of the rotunda.
